Presentation and objectives

Aware of the reality encompassing many young people and their families with regards to drug abuse, ”la Caixa” Welfare Projects has promoted this programme aimed at preventing, informing and raising awareness about the effects of drugson health and society among the diverse players who are key elements within this objective: young people, families, educators, health centre professionals and the general public.

The “Talking about drugs” programme aims to aims to prevent drug-taking among young people and the general public and deals with the question in an innovative and complete way.

The specific objectives of the programme are:

• Promote social awareness about the harmful effects of drugs that result in an increase in understanding the risk among young people.
• Provide resources of information, guidance and training of families, as well as educational and healthcare workers.
• Develop personal skills and abilities to reject drug-taking.
  
  
• Provide tools for young people so that they can adopt a critical and responsible attitude towards drugs.
